Integrative Bodywork

Integrative Bodywork
For musculoskeletal pain, and neurological pain

During twelve years of practice Alexis has studied and practiced craniosacral therapy, somatoemotional release, Swedish and deep tissue massage therapy, reflexology, reiki and acupressure. Often people seek relief from musculoskeletal pain, neurological pain, and many forms of stress. Treating these symptoms requires reconnecting the parts of the body that have forgotten how to communicate with one another. Finding the voice of these body parts, and re-establishing this communication helps us understand why pain manifests. As a result of working on hundreds of cases over time, Alexis realized that often people heal by applying a combination of therapies. This is why she often works with an acupuncturist or chiropractor, and also applies a variety of treatments. In this way, we come into a greater understanding of the basis of our imbalances. We learn about our physical, emotional and spiritual constitution, and how that constitution drives the patterns that both bring us out of balance and then bring us back into balance. Ultimately, prevention is the goal.

In a given session Alexis will carefully gather your health history, evaluate the condition, and might recommend a combination of :

Meditation
Craniosacral Therapy
Somatoemotional Release or therapeutic imagery and dialogue
Swedish, deep tissue or friction massage
Acupressure
Aromatherapy
Reflexology
Yoga postures
Breathing practices
Dietary modifications

Treatment plans generally span over four sessions every other week, or depending on the level of pain may be spread out monthly for several months. Many times yoga classes are recommended in addition to treatment, and sometimes alternate visits with an acupuncturist, chiropractor, naturopath, or Ayurvedic physician might be recommended.
